The Business Relationships dataset identifies and classifies connections among global companies helping to build out a comprehensive view of all the interdependent parties in a company’s ecosystem. Today we cover over 2.9M+ relationships with over 1M Customer/Supplier relationships, 600K strategic alliances and 691K Creditor/Borrower relationships among others. These relationships are broadly categorized within Suppliers, Customers and Strategic Alliances for a company. For the Suppliers and Customers of a company, we also provide the revenue and expense data which helps to provide a qualitative and quantitative context for that relationship.

This dataset identifies connections among global companies, for example:

  • Utilize robust coverage including 28 relationship types for global public and private companies
  • Implement data sourced from SEC Filings, SEDAR filings, English glossy annual reports, news and surveys
  • Identify dependencies among multiple companies
  • View upstream suppliers and downstream distributors, customers, etc.

S&P Global Market Intelligence collects and maintains business relationships information for public companies, subsidiaries of public companies, and some private companies that issue debt in public transactions using a multi-faceted approach that includes cyclical validation of company reports, web content mining, utilizing S&P Capital IQ-collected Key Developments data, and company surveys. The combination of these approaches enables the Business Relationships dataset to cover a wide and diverse range of companies and data items in a timely and comprehensive manner.
