Carbon Accounting: Automotive
The Carbon Accounting: Automotive dataset calculates full lifecycle well-to-wheel greenhouse gas emissions for road vehicles.
Mobility
The Carbon Accounting: Automotive dataset calculates full lifecycle well-to-wheel greenhouse gas emissions attributable to road vehicles.
This dataset is instrumental to greenhouse gas emission disclosures for financial institutions (financed emissions evaluation) or industrial companies (measuring net-zero pathways). The automotive sector is a heavy emitter of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which are in turn driven by the lifecycle emissions of the vehicles they produce. This dataset includes granular analysis to the vehicle-specific level, as preferred by Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) rules.
This dataset includes:
- Global coverage
- 120+ companies
- Forecasts up to 2050
- Vehicle powertrain type
- Lifetime mileage of vehicle (both assumed and measured)
- Lifecycle emissions, comprising:
- Upstream CO2 (i.e. from oil extraction/refining; electricity generation)
- Tailpipe CO2 emission (including blended emissions for hybrid vehicles)
